How Can I Keep Passion In My Marriage?
Keeping passion in your marriage is not about reading romance books, watching sensual videos, or special a ‘falling in love’ feeling. Passion in your marriage is something that should be driven by the husband and has to be reciprocated by the wife.
The best way to keep passion is to have a lot of love for your spouse. Even when you don’t feel like it. Love is not a feeling, love is a choice. If you are concerned about your spouse cheating on you, making sure your marriage will last, or infidelity, there are 3 things you can do.
- Pray and talk about the Bible with your spouse all the time (maybe even read the word together each day)
- Walk in love by reminding yourself of the love scriptures through frequently reading 1 Corinthians 13:1-, Proverbs 3:3-4, Colossians 3:14
- Have sex with your spouse frequently! That’s multiple times every week.
- Direct all your passion at your spouse by touching them not just intimately, but also in the day to day. Affirm that you love your spouse by saying, “I love you”.
Much like choosing to love someone is a choice, sex is a choice as well. Withholding sex from your spouse (more about that here) is not fulfilling your wedding vows. Don’t forget you promised to ‘have and to hold’ until your commitment is complete when you leave the earth.
