Movie Review- What Are The Learning Points of The Bohemian Rhapsody and The Band Queen?
The is no doubt that films from Hollywood and around the world are getting very loose morally. As a Christian, it’s becoming more and more difficult to find flicks that encourage you, have a good story, and showcase creativity.
The world is touting the movie Bohemian Rhapsody about the 80s rock band Queen. The movie is about the secular band, but it is more about it’s British-Indian lead singer, stage named “Freddie Mercury”. The story details the struggles of the singer.
Music Is Moving
FNo doubt, music is moving and fun, but the Bohemian Rhapsody seems to be more of attempt by the producers to get the public to see homosexual promiscuity as something that it’s okay to give in to. It seems to be the unbelievers unknowing attempt to get the world’s morals into the minds and accepted by committed Christians.
The Lost World
The foul language, the men kissing men, the promotion of sex outside of marriage, the heavy drinking, drug use, clubbing, smoking, all contribute to a story of that is less of a triumph more of a tragedy. It’s sad to think about it, but it’s highly unlikely that Freddie, who died of sexual transmitted disease (STD) at just 45 years old is someone we’ll meet in heaven. The Bible tells us in Revelation 21:8 tells us that there will be no homosexuals in Heaven. (This is something people should sit up and take note on as sexual sin can affect our eternity).
It is not recommended that you watch this movie. As a Christian, you will find it difficult to sit through the sex, drugs, and language that accompanies it. Rather than giving 2 hours of your life to see a tragedy and the consequences of sin. It would be better focus on something that is good, right, and just as Philippians 4:8 encourages. Video, music, and other art can be moving but we are told to protect our heart (soul, which means our mind, will, and emotions) in Proverbs 4:23. Why? All of the issues of life are regulated by the condition of your soul (heart).
The Bohemian Rhapsody is not a movie for people who love God. It is just an example of how lost the world is through sexual perversion and substance abuse.
God is good and with Him, life is abundant and thrilling!
