What Good Can Christians Get Out Of The Wuhan Corona Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic?
There’s nothing good about sickness and disease. Sickness and disease comes from two places. (Find out about that here). The virus is being used by the enemy to kill people but it’s origin appears to be through the actions of people in China in this particular instance. Governments around the world seem to be using the virus as an excuse to control their citizens. Is there any way to turn this negative into a positive?
What good could possibly come out of a virus pandemic?
The good news is that as a Christian, you can be shielded from getting the virus completely. God’s people are blessed because they are special to Him. In Deuteronomy 28:1-12 we see that God wants to bless His people. Deuteronomy 28:1 first say that we must diligently obey His Word (the Bible), then, He will put us high above all the nations of the earth. This is the Abrahamic Covenant. Since Christians are the see of Abraham in Galatians 3:29, the promised to Abraham are the promised to us. Deuteronomy 28:2 says that blessings will come after us. Verse 3 says that we’re blessed in both the city and the country, wherever we go. The blessings continue all the way to Deuteronomy 28:14.
3 John 1:2 says, I wish above all things that God prosper and be in good health. God wants you to be in good health. With your good health and long life, you are a testimony of God’s goodness to the people around you. You are strong and people will see that.
The good news is despite the pandemic, Christians do not have to fall sick like unbelievers. Despite the fear of sickness spewed out daily by the secular media, God-lovers have nothing to fear. We are enveloped by the peace that Jesus Christ has left for us as He promises in John 14:27. We are not anxious, fretting, or fearful. Praise God!
The virus is a excellent chance to show God at work in our lives. If you know someone who is sick, it’s your chance to pray for them and immediately see them recover by faith. Our God is mighty! We are His hands and His feet on the earth for this time. Jesus is coming back soon!
