The Word of God (the Bible) is the most timeless, powerful book in the history of mankind. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God’s Word is living and active. We are to be living and active as well. That’s why it is so important to read it every day. Even setting 10 to 15 minutes a day aside to read can make the difference between success or failure, life and death.
The Bible is very important. The better you know the Word of God (the Bible), the better you shall know the God of the Word. The Bible was written by men and women who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is 66 books covering history, science, culture, ethics, law, family, romance/sex, and nearly everything you need to know in life.
Here are ten reasons why the Bible is important:

- The Bible keeps us anchored in ageless truth.
- The Bible is the foundation of our faith.

- The Bible informs our practices, directs our actions, and guides our life.
- The Bible protects us from wrong teaching.
- The Bible is God’s written word to us, complementing God’s spoken word through the Holy Spirit.
- The Bible keeps us from trying to create God in our own image.
- The Bible protects us from turning faith into whatever we want it to be.
- Reading and studying the Bible is an act of worship.
There is no doubt that if you want to go deeper with God, you have to spend more time with Him praying and seeking His face. Isaiah 40:31 shows us that if you spend time or ‘wait’ on the Lord each day, you are going to renew your strength. You will avoid making mistakes and failures because you will have fellowshipped with the Almighty God, who knows all things. Waiting on the Lord, spending time reading the Word of God is the key to fulfilling your life and walking in God’s abundance for you.
