What’s God’s View On Rioting and Street Protests?
The Lord Jesus preached a message that turned some Jewish people who had became religious and filled with traditions on their heads. In Matthew 22:37. He preaches that loving God and loving others was the greatest thing a God chaser could do.

As the Lord preached a message of love, some believers misinterpret that as meaning you just take whatever comes. Much like the warped Dark Ages Mentality that holds back many Christians from achieving God’s best for their lives, believers have this thinking that they just ‘turn the other cheek’ and take whatever is coming. They don’t realize this is talking about suffering for the Gospel’s sake.
Does a Christian have to sit idly by when someone attacks them or their family?
No! A Christian must defend themselves and their family at all times. The best defense is prayer. But knowing how to use a legal weapon will make people think twice before trying to take advantage of you. Peace through strength, not peace through weakness as long as unbelievers are around us.
What is God’s take on protests and rioting?
If your nation allows you to protest unrighteousness (such as the murdering of babies in the womb). It’s okay to go out show people that you are a Kingdom person and stand for Gods ways and not the ways of the dark enemies. However, you must remember when a crowd gathers it is very easy for an extremist to hijack the mood by destroying property, looting, or directly hurting people. Remember when the fate of Jesus Christ was asked of the crowd by Pontus Pilate, the evil religious people had stirred up the crowd with a few planted people dispersed amongst the outside gathering to select the criminal and say ‘Crucify Him! Crucify Him!’ Of the Lord Jesus in Luke 23:21.
When a crowd becomes a mob, it’s time to leave as quickly as possible so you are not associated with the destruction, theft, and death that follows.
Remember John 10:10 that says the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Where there is a riot, there are demons at work trying to influence people.
The good news at the Name of Jesus you can stop rioters in their tracks. When you call on the Almighty God to defend you. Remember Ephesians 6:12 says we fight a spiritual warfare. Just as Elijah showed his servant the many powerful angels protecting them from the attack of a surrounding army in 2 Chronicles 32:7,
God surrounds His people (you!) with ministering spirits (angels) to react and move when you call upon God. There is nothing to fear. The whole chapter of Psalm 91 is your promise on that. No physical harm comes to those who are IN HIM. We just have to make sure we’re in Him. Praise God!
