How Can I Overcome Fear?
Fear is to be afraid of someone or something. Fear comes in different forms. Fear of small spaces, dying, other people, the dark, heights, fear of changing, failing… the list of fear goes on and on. The opposite force of fear is faith. Hebrews 11:6 in the Bible says, that without faith it is impossible to please God. When you are in fear, you don’t have faith. The first and most important step in overcoming fear is knowing God through Jesus His Son. Simply, you can just pray
Father God, Please forgive me of all my sins and mistakes, and make me right before you. Right now, I confess that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation and eternal life now. Thank You for saving me! From today on, I have eternal life with you.
Once you have Jesus and eternal life, you have a weapon against fear. It’s faith. Fear is being afraid of the unknown, the future, something that may happen. Faith is knowing God, praying and talking with Him all the time. God is very personable. Faith knows that nothing evil will happen to you. Psalms 91:1-16 is very clear about how God protects you and will give those who trust in Him a life that is long and strong.
Fear Talks, Faith Talks And Walks
Fear talks and gets worse and worse. It grows like a cancer or disease in people. Faith looks at the problem and speaks right at it. Jesus showed us exactly how to do it in Mark 11:22-25. Speak to the mountain, the problem, the fear. Faith is not, “Jesus heal me of this cancer”. Strong faith says, “Cancer, in the name of Jesus I command you to shrivel up and disappear”. Fear says, “I’m going to fall from this place”. Faith says, “I am surrounded by God’s angels, I am strong and full of faith because God loves me.”
Much of fear works in our imaginations. We picture the bad thing happening. In 2 Corinthians 10:5, we are told to take control of our thoughts and imaginations. Turn your fear in the unknown, to faith in the known… His Name is Jesus.
What Are You Thinking About?
Overcoming fear is a daily thing until you completely eliminate it. The entry point to fear is worry, anxiety, and anxiousness. Philippians 4:6 tells not to be fearful, anxious, or worried but to let God know about it THEN He will give you the peace that know human can understand. Once you rid yourself of fear, you will overcome anything that comes against you in life.
Find Your Promise In The Bible To Stand On
Get your talking in line with the Bible. Find promises that God has for you on your safety, long life, prosperity, health, and needs being met. God has promised you all of that and so much more. If there is still something in your life that you are fearful of, no problem! Just renew your mind, change the way you think as Romans 12:2. You don’t have to be like the rest of the world that is so fearful in every day life. In fact, the Bible says that we as believers overcome the world in 1 John 5:4. Overcoming fear is just one of many ways you can live in the world, but not like the world. You want to walk more in God’s power? Receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit now. You’ll never be the same!
Now Eliminate Fear Out Loud, Pray
Fear, in the mighty Name of Jesus my savior I bind you up and throw you out of my life. I will no longer listen to your anxiety and I rebuff your attacks on my mind. Get out of my life and never come back. Now, Father I pray your peace will prevail in my soul; my mind, my will, and my emotions. Surround me with your peace and teach me how to build my faith strong according to your Word. I pray this in Jesus’ Mighty Name, AMEN!
