Why Did The Brownsville Revival End?
The Brownsville Revival (AKA The Pensacola Outpouring) was an amazing event that changed the lives of people when they sought the Lord with all of their hearts. Those who attended were never the same again. Many long for revival to come again and wonder why it ever had to end.
Opinions as to why the Revival ended may vary, but clearly God had his hand on the meetings. Understanding the mistakes of other believers (not criticizing) will make for even more power revival on the earth. Revival starts with people hungry for God and His ways.
Why Did the Pensacola Outpouring End?
For those who were personally involved in the revival, there are multiple reasons why the revival ended after 5 years.
- Divisive leadership was appointed that later split the church
- Evangelist Steve Hill left the meetings and the Revival lost momentum
- Financial mismanagement created unnecessary pressure. (The church was reportedly left with $11M USD debt following the 5 years of revival)
- Dark Ages Mentality poisoned minds of participants making them open to financial disaster and other unnecessary struggles
- The revival was not spread around the world by those participating, instead people stayed in Pensacola
There are multiple reasons, but the Revival is history that changed the lives of many. Healings, salvations, both unbelievers and Christians getting right with God from various Church denominations, and the powerful presence of God in the place.

Why the revival ended only matters so we learn to avoid the same mistakes in our lives and churches. God will bring revival again to your land. Frankly, it’s not God who brings revival, it’s YOU! The Word of God clearly states,
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
