Where Is “Name It And Claim It” In The Bible?
One of the basics we learn about faith is that we have to be really careful what we say. If you’re a committed Christian, you need to understand, “What Is True Bible Faith?” The world talks about their problems, their fears, their anxiety, but is that what God wants us talking about?
‘Name it and claim it’ was meant as a put down against Christians who believe that they can have whatever they say. Whatever is a big word, God is our BIG God. Another variation of ‘Name it and claim it’ was ‘Blab it and grab it’. Some call it a part of the so called “Prosperity Gospel”. The criticisms seem to continue, but is this concept of speaking things really something from the Bible?
Speak To The Mountain
In Mark 11:22-25, we see the time when Jesus went to the side of the road to eat fruit off a fig tree but found no fruit. He cursed the fig tree. The next day Jesus and His followers passed that fig tree, it was dried up by the roots. His friends were dumb founded. In those passages, Jesus told his amazed followers, “Have faith in God” or more literally, “Have the God kind of faith”. What is the God kind of faith? The God kind of faith is faith that speaks as God does. He created the world not by struggling, nor worrying, God created the world you live in by speaking.
Jesus continues to speak to the mountain or obstacle in your life, you must believe that what you say shall come to pass, and not doubt. Was is this, about saying something and expecting it? The Bible has the answer. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that expecting something to come to pass is FAITH. This is true Bible faith. Hebrews chapter 11 goes on to tell us about all the men and women of faith expected and received throughout the Bible. We call Hebrews 11, The Hall Of Faith for famous people who lived by faith in the Word.
You Mean I Can Have Whatever I Say?
People tease strong faith Christians saying, “You mean, I can say ‘I am a billionaire, I’m a billionaire, I’m a billionaire’ and it will come to pass?” No! Like anything in God’s Kingdom there are conditions. Salvation comes when you confess Jesus as your Savior according Romans 10:8,9. You must receive Jesus to be saved. Jesus won our health and healing on the cross according to 1 Peter 2:24. You must receive healing by faith. Financial lack was eliminated by Jesus as Philippians 4:19 says God shall meet ALL your needs. You have to receive prosperity as the enemy and his hordes want to have you financially broke and useless for the Kingdom of God.
Can you say “I’m a billionaire” and just blab it and grab it. No! There are conditions. You must say it, believe it, and not doubt it. You also must ask according to the will of God which is the Word of God (the Bible). Again, understand, “What Is True Bible Faith?” and it will be so clear. If you want to live in prosperity you can. If you want to live in poverty, you can choose that as well.
Where Is Name It And Claim It?
The simple answer is Jesus talked about believing and speaking all the time. The Bible is the God kind of strong faith book. If you want to know more about the importance of what you are saying, do a search in your Bible concordance on “whosoever, whoever, whatever”, you will be amazed that God is so amazing and fair. Whomever can ask for whatever according to the Word of God. Living by faith is something we can all do. It doesn’t matter where we’re from, how we look, or what abilities we have. We can all use our faith to take our lives up to the next level. Jesus made it very clear to a man who needed God’s help in His life. Jesus says,
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
– Mark 9:23 (NKJV)
If you’re not receiving healing, health, prosperity in your life don’t look at God. Look at yourself. Start believing and believe God on His Word.
Get God’s power in your life now.
