How Can I Hear From God? I Want To Hear His Voice
So many people talk about God, but many don’t seem to know Him. When you look at their lives you sometimes see poor decisions made, indecisive characteristics, and maybe even things that seem a bit hypocritical. Others you can see making an effort to know God, but they are just not sure of themselves all the time. With God, we can be sure of ourselves.
God wants us to hear from Him. We receive our salvation by grace through faith. Romans 10:8,9 tells us that we have to confess with our mouth, or say, believe in our heart (that means no doubt) and we shall be saved. It is very simple to get eternal life. The same way we get our salvation, saying, is the same way we get our healing.
We receive our healing by speaking against sickness in Jesus’ Name, again it’s saying, believing, and receiving. We forgive others in the same way, saying, believing, and receiving. Some people attack Jesus people and call them ‘name it and claim it’ Christians (read about that HERE). When you talk about finances and being financially blessed, it’s exactly the same way faith works, you start saying it, believe it, and act on it. Tithing to your church, giving offerings to ministries that are actually doing something for the poor, bringing people into the Kingdom and you stop saying you are poor and begin to say you are rich and believe.
When you believe, you’re blessed, you say it, and believe it, your life will change financially. As you begin to walk in God’s blessings, some people could call you a ‘prosperity’ preacher (read about the Prosperity Gospel is HERE). Does God want His people to be in poverty or in prosperity? The more you dive into the Word of God, the more you will know the God of the Word. He is awesome. We use the word awesome only when we refer to God. Nothing else. Only He is full of awe. He is amazing, gracious, loving, and so beautiful to know.
How Can I Hear From God?
If you want to hear from God, you’ve got to have faith. Romans 10:17 says the way we build our faith is by hearing the Word of God. Essentially there are two very important things you have to do to hear the voice of God in your live.
- Read the Word of God daily and think deeply (meditate) just as Joshua 1:8,9 says. Then you will have good success
- You must also listen to anointed preachers of the Word of God as Romans 10:17 says. You faith muscles will grow.
If you want to hear God’s voice, you’ve got to focus on His Word. You have to read it every day as you confess, meditate, and pray the Word over your life. In addition, Romans 10:16 says how beautiful are the feet of those who bring the Gospel of Peace to us. Those are the anointed preachers. Anointed means people who have God’s mark on them. People who answer your questions not with opinion, but with Word. It’s all about the Bible. These people bring the anointed Word to you.
The greatest things you will hear from God are when you read the Word of God, and when you listen to anointed preachers who teach strong faith that pleases God as we hear about in Hebrews 11. That’s what pleases God in Hebrews 11:6, strong faith. In 1 John 2:20, we see that when people have an anointing from God they know His voice and His ways. These people have set themselves apart by not going with the wicked flow of the world. They will hear from God. These are the types of people we need to hear from.
Who Do I Listen To?
When you decide that you want to hear from God, of course your read the Bible every day. Then in addition, you find preachers and teachers (you can learn about the Five Fold Ministry gifts in Ephesians 4:11) that will preach the Word so that you can build your faith.
Listen to them preaching the Word when you are getting ready for your day in the am. Play them your music player on your way to your school or work in the car or train. When you travel on a business trip or go on vacation, play them on your device in the plane. Before you go to bed listen to anointed preaching. Whenever you can, listen to anointed teaching and what your faith grow. As your faith grows, you will begin to hear God’s voice more and more in your life.
Ditch The Bad, Grab The Good
Beware of teachers poisoned with Dark Ages Mentality (you can read about DAM HERE). Whomever you listen to, be like the Berean people in the book of Acts. During and after you hear the preaching of the Word, check to make sure what they say is in line with the Bible. If you hear a lot of things that are out of line, it’s time to turn them off and find a different preacher. There are many great anointed preachers out there. Carefully, watch whomever you are listening to. The religious people will break you down and make you weak. The anointed preachers will build you up.
God wants to talk to you. It’s time to sharpen our spiritual senses and be in tune with God’s world. After all, Jesus told us that God is a spirit and those who worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
